Cupertino, California

The home of Apple, Inc.

Cupertino is most famous for being the headquarters of Apple, Inc. with their modern and unique circular building called Apple Park. The city does not have a true designated downtown area, but is dotted with strip mall areas and business park areas. Most notable of these areas is the construction on the former Vallco Shopping Mall area. The new development will be called Vallco Town Center, and will feature new housing, retail and office spaces, a signature 30-acre elevated park, two town-center plazas, and a vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment district.

Cupertino is popular among families for the suburban environment and top schools. The majority of the population demographic is of Asian descent, so the restaurants and local businesses are mostly influenced by this. Homes are large and pricey because of the proximity to Apple and the availability of more land to build on, especially in the Santa Cruz foothills where mansions with acres of space behind them lie.
