One of the loveliest cities in the South Bay, Monte Sereno is an upscale area just next to Los Gatos tucked into the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains. With a smaller population than some of the major cities in the area, the hills are peppered with large houses sitting on plenty of land. Though it has no commercial buildings within the town’s borders, Monte Sereno is a short drive from both downtown Saratoga and downtown Los Gatos, which offer plenty of dining, entertaining, and shopping options.

Parks & Amenities
To the east, Los Gatos has an exciting downtown area and many parks to enjoy. If shopping and dining is your thing, head to North Santa Cruz Avenue. Forming the backbone of the downtown area, shops and restaurants line the street. Boutiques, art galleries, and cafes let you browse sales, window shop, or stop by for a cappuccino. The area is incredibly upscale but maintains a cute small-town feel in style and architecture.
Los Gatos offers everyone the opportunity to get out and enjoy nature as well. Year round the Los Gatos Creek Trail, just outside of the downtown main street, is filled with bikers, runners, and people just strolling along. The five mile trail follows the Los Gatos Creek and heading south, ends up at the Lexington Reservoir with beautiful views and more trails heading up into the hills. Heading north, you will end up at the 150-acre Vasona Park where you can picnic, jog, bike, or rent a paddleboat on the lake. Next to Vasona Park is Oak Meadow Park, where you can ride a carousel and a miniature train, play on the playground, or even see a decommissioned Air Force jet.
Saratoga, to the northwest of Monte Sereno, is a small town of just 12 square miles with a downtown centered around Big Basin Avenue. Chic restaurants and boutique shopping are set amidst a background of mature oak trees, wooded trails, and creeks. One of the main highlights of Saratoga is Hakone Estate and Gardens, which has an authentic Japanese garden. They offer tours of their gardens and traditional tea ceremony demonstrations, along with special events to learn about the history of the area or classes in Japanese arts such as Origami, Zen Study, Tai Chi, Karate, and Landscape Linocut Print art.
The Montalvo Oaks Community
Montalvo Oaks is an exclusive community of just 36 homes crafted with luxury and style in mind. When completed, the community will have 21 single family homes, 7 townhomes, and 8 duets. All plans will have premium Hestan appliances, Kohler plumbing, a tankless water heater, energy efficient windows, and solar panel purchase options. Available Floor Plans
There are 10 different floor plans available. There are two different types of duet plans, Plan 2x and Plan 3x. Plan 3x is sold out, but we were able to show you Plan 2x, which has availability. There are two different types of townhome plans, Plan 4 and Plan 5, however, there are no models available yet as these will be future releases. The rest of the plans are single family homes, so there is Plan 1, Plan 2A & 2B, Plan 3F & 3G, and Plans 6, 7, and 8. Because of limited space, Montalvo Oaks only has a model set up for Plan 7, which we are excited to be able to show you as well!
Plan 2x is one of the duet homes, featuring 3 bedrooms and a study, 3 bathrooms, and 1,840 living square feet. Filled with natural light, the kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, natural wood cabinets, and quartz countertops. In addition to the spacious living area, the first floor has a bedroom with a small closet and a bathroom that could easily be used for guests.
The second floor has the spacious master suite with an enormous walk-in closet with a window installed for natural lighting. The attached master bathroom has dual sinks, three windows, and a large shower with a built-in bench. The second bedroom upstairs also has a walk-in closet. The hall bathroom is conveniently located at the top of the stairs and across from it, the laundry room with side-by-side washer and dryer. Between the bedrooms is the study area, a small nook for sitting indoors or outdoors, with a walk-out second floor patio attached.
The homes all also have an attached two car garage with a tankless water heater installed.
Plan 7 is a single family home featuring 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and 3,025 living square feet. The first floor has an open concept great room, dining room, and kitchen, along with a guest bedroom suite with a large walk-in closet and attached full bathroom. A half bathroom is also on the first floor for convenience, and a two-door, two-car attached garage with a tankless water heater.
The top floor has an extremely large master suite with a walk-in closet, attached bathroom with a soaking tub and a freestanding shower, and two separate sinks and countertops. The guest bedrooms upstairs both have walk-in closets as well, along with attached bathrooms. A full laundry room with ample countertop space is also located upstairs.
This community is made of just 36 homes, so we are expecting them so sell out quickly.
